This first term of Iberian Connections will explore the themes of Iberia, Multiculturalisms, and Marginal Writing. All sessions are free and open to the public. Most sessions will be either audio-taped or video-taped, and uploaded to the Iberian Connections website.

The first session of Iberian Connections for this term features Nuria de Castilla. Alexander Peña will be in charge of conducting the session. Prof. Nuria de Castilla will address her brand new research on the Qur’ans that were gathered by Charles V during his Tunis campaign as a war booty.

Nuria de Castilla has proposed two articles, with an abstract, and a description of her scholarly trajectory and findings over the years. Alexander Peña’s response will be posted here as well.

Iberian Connections is sponsored by The Whitney and Betty MacMillan Center for International and Area Studies, and the Department of Spanish and Portuguese.
