This list reflects works I have been reading of late to better understand my own positionality in academia—as a white-Jewish-cis-hetero-woman librarian at Tulane University—and to engage with activist philosophies, cultures, and communities in New Orleans. These readings have informed my position paper for this session of Iberian Connections; they have influenced my view of early modern Iberian Studies in the now, following the outcry and debates in our field over the spray-painting of a statue of Miguel de Cervantes in San Francisco, California on June 19 (Juneteenth), 2020.
