Víctor Sierra Matute

Víctor Sierra Matute is Visiting Assistant Professor of Early Modern Studies at New York University. His research focuses on the intersection of materiality, affect, and history of the senses in the early modern Iberian world. He worked for the Department of Incunabula and Rare Books at the National Library of Spain, where he cataloged a significant part of the early modern theatrical manuscripts. He is currently working on a book-length project provisionally entitled Materia Poetica: The Affective Life of Texts in the Early Modern Iberian World. Preliminary research towards this project has been funded by fellowships and grants from the Huntington Library, the Asociación Internacional Siglo de Oro, and the Society for Renaissance and Baroque Hispanic Poetry.
