Beatrice Pasciuta is a Professor of Law at the University of Palermo. Her work combines a profound interest in legal thinking beyond the legal profession, and the expansion of legal culture in different social milieus. She has worked extensively on extreme narratives, including, for instance, the trials of Satan in the Middle Ages. Currently, she is one of the leading members of an international research group on Sicily as a multicultural legal and plitical hub.
From a symbolic and cultural perspective, issuing a new legislation was certainly one of the most significant expressions of the strength of the new political power.
