Aseel Alfataftah

Aseel Alfataftah is a third year PhD student in Islamic Studies at Yale. She holds a master’s degree in Islamic Intellectual History from the Free University of Berlin; her thesis topic was the Debate of Women Prophecy in Islam: its Context and the Construction of Knowledge. At the time, Aseel works on postclassical Islamic philosophy and theology with particular focus on discussions related to the genealogy of the soul, prophecy, and epistemology between the 12th and 14th century.
